Assign job roles to competencies

You can assign competencies and grades to a job role to define the skills and skill levels required by a user with that role. For example, the “Human Resources Manager” job role may require the competency “Managing Change”, at grade “7”. You can use the job role competency assignments to produce a skill gap analysis for users with that role.



To view the job role assignments for a competency, click Job Role on the contents menu to display the “Job Role Assignments” page. The page lists all the job roles that require the competency, and shows the minimum grade that is required.

To edit the grade for a job role assignment, click Edit next to the job role title. Select the new grade from the drop down list, and click Save to save it.

To assign a new job role to the competency, click Edit at the bottom of the page to show the list of available job roles. The page shows all the job roles defined in the Learning Management System, with a check box to show the job roles that are currently assigned to the competency. Current job role assignments appear at the top of the list.

To assign a job role to a competency, tick the check box next to the job role title. To remove a job role, clear the check box. Click Submit to save the new job role assignments, or Return to return to the current job role assignments.
