Assign courses to a user (direct assignment)
Normally, you assign courses to users with groups, so that you can manage groups of users at once. Occasionally, you may assign courses directly to a user. These courses appear on the user’s learning schedule with all the other courses from group membership assignments. A direct course assignment is also created when a user enrolls themselves onto a course through their catalogue.
To view the direct course assignments for a user, click Course: enrolled on the contents menu to display the “Course Assignments” page. The page shows a list of all the courses that are directly assigned to the user—courses assigned through group membership do not appear on this page.

Each
course in the list shows the course code and title, the expiry date
(the date the course no longer appears in the learning schedule),
the deadline, and the name of the user that approved the assignment.
Only approved course assignments appear on the learning schedule
for a user.
To add a new course, click Edit to show the list of available courses. The page shows all available courses defined in the Learning Management System, with a check box to show the current course assignments (which appear at the top of the list).
To assign a course to the user, tick the check box next to the course title. To remove a course, clear the check box. Click Submit to save the new course assignments, or Return to return to the current course assignments
If you enable the application setting “Option.SendCourseNotificationEmail”, the Learning Management System sends an email to the user for each course that you assign to them. The email notifies the user that their learning schedule has changed, and gives the details of the new course.
