Cirencester, UK, 15th January 2007: e2train, the UK's leading provider of learning and performance technology announces the launch of Simulate, an easy to use software simulation and e-learning authoring tool which will create SCORM compliant content , without the need for external plug-ins. The new desktop based program adds a third option to the Kallidus 'create' range of e-learning technology solutions, joining Kallidus LCMS and Author.
Kallidus Simulate offers an exceptionally easy way to capture software screens and processes. Draft simulations can be created simply by running the software to capture screens and key strokes. Simulate can then automatically turn this into a draft SCORM simulation which includes try out tasks, based on the key strokes, already built in. This can then be edited as needed.
Simulate enables users to address the problems inherent in training staff on a major software rollout.
These include:
- high costs to train many people
- Large numbers of staff can be trained immediately reducing time to full implementation,
- complaints that staff are 'too busy to attend'
- training which is too generic
- Systems are protected from new user error. Training mistakes are made on the simulation, not the live software.
Kallidus Simulate can be deployed in different modes to suit learners needs.
These include:
- Showme - users try out tasks and learn by doing
- Testme - tests knowledge and skills to assess user competence
- Movie - a rich experience to refresh the memory or provide re-enforcement
- Cue cards - detailed task instructions act as online reference documentation
Kallidus Simulate requires no programming or multimedia skills. Users simply allow the tool to capture their tasks as they are performed and the resulting screens along with instructions together form an interactive e-learning lesson in any of the modes described above.
