Chelsea Building Society has chosen e2train's Kallidus Performance to drive through new performance initiatives aimed at creating a more dynamic, ongoing staff review process. The new review methodology will use Kallidus to match staff performance to the Society’s competency matrix and schedule training as needed. 

Chelsea Building Society, the sixth largest building society in the UK, has implemented the Kallidus Performance Management System to complement its already successful learning solutions which utilise Kallidus Learning Management System (LMS) as a delivery platform.  The Society has long been at the forefront of using learning technologies, introducing e-learning as early as 2002.  

Currently around 1,000 staff across the UK access Kallidus LMS to book face to face training and to access e-learning.  Kallidus also enables Chelsea to manage critical FSA compliance requirements and to monitor other in-house training events.  In addition, the LMS is used to control the award of accreditations and certifications as part of ongoing staff development. Adding Kallidus Performance now provides a complete suite of competency measurement tools by extending capabilities to include 1:1s, staff reviews and appraisals.

One of our key strategies is ‘To Have Great People’ and Kallidus Performance will help us deliver that.’  He continues, ‘The system will enable us to record details of core and role-specific competencies and how individuals meet these, plus we will be able to log and review where staff are in relation to the competency matrix that we use here.  Instead of just an annual staff review, now everyone will have access to an evolving and ongoing development process that will allow them to review and add action plans as needs and requirements change.’

The implementation will soon be rolled out to everyone within the organisation.  In addition, Harris is introducing more blended learning via Kallidus LMS and is embracing learner generated content via Web 2.0 features such as forums and message boards, firmly keeping Chelsea at the leading edge of learning.
