The e-learning software provider e2train is today opening its new head office in Cirencester. Local MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown will perform the official task.
The company has moved to the new premises in Cirencester Business Park after having grown out of its last premises nearby in just two years. Explains e2train managing director Rob Caul: “For us as an organisation Cirencester is a great location. We need a range of highly skilled (and hard to find) technical staff to develop our software. But we also need high quality creative people to enable us to create powerful online learning courses. To get this kind of talent, we need to source from a wide area. That means, as well as accessing a good pool of local talent, we commute from as far away as Bristol, Hereford and Worcester and the Thames Valley. Cirencester offers an excellent central focal point for us with good road links from all these areas.”
e2train has grown rapidly in the last few years. In 2005, e2train was ranked second in the Deloitte Rising Star Technology awards, a ranking of the fastest growing technology companies in the London & Southern Region. Rankings are based on average percentage revenue growth over three years between 2002 and 2004. e2train grew 920 per cent during this period.
Mr Clifton-Brown said: “I am delighted to be supporting e2train here in Cirencester. It is very encouraging to see innovative companies, which call for a high skills base, employing local people establishing themselves here – particularly companies that are demonstrating a better and better track record. Cirencester offers great opportunities and infrastructure for companies wishing to set up, I wish e2train every success and hope they are the first of many”.
The company is now a leading provider of learning systems and solutions to major organisations around the world. Its Kallidus® Learning Management System is used by household names such as Nissan Europe, O2, Ofcom, House of Fraser, Waitrose, various police forces and NHS Trusts and seven of the UK’s top 10 building societies.
