Uncovered 2006 reveals insights from e-learning experts and training professionals

uncoverd 2006Uncovered 2006, the inaugural Kallidus user conference, was held at Wychwood Park, Cheshire on 29, 30 November and 1 December.  The event was a huge success attended by senior HR, IT and Training professionals from both the public and privatesectors, across a broad range of industries including financial services, telecommunications, local government and the NHS.

Attendees benefited from the expert knowledge of the keynote speakers, Dr. Marc Rosenberg and Sally-Ann Moore, as well as discovering inside tips and tricks from e2train learning consultants.  They also heard first hand the pitfalls and triumphs of real e-learning implementations from some of e2train’s largest customers; NHS South West, Yorkshire Building Society and Informa.

‘Uncovered 2006 was very worthwhile and its given me lots of thoughts to transfer into my developing job role’ – Uncovered 2006 delegate

Dr. Rosenberg highlighted the need to move beyond the traditional view of blended learning.  In the new learning environment, there is a need to blend not only classroom and e-learning, but to fuse learning and knowledge management and to ensure the transfer of learning into organisational performance and value.  Not only this, but learning also needs to be accessible across a broad range of technologies including mobile phones and iPods.   He stated that ‘e-learning needs to be much more than “e-training”.  We need to look for innovative approaches to complement training as the technology-rich workplace requires new technology-enabled tools and strategies for workplace learning – anytime and anywhere’.

Kallidus Simulate Launched!

Uncovered 2006 also saw the latest addition to the Kallidus Learning Suite; Kallidus Simulate.  This new tool enables users to address these problems by enabling the easy creation of e-learning lessons and assessments from simulations captured from your internal software systems and work processes.

Business benefits include:

  • the creation of highly relevant and interactive training sessions which result in fast learning and high retention rates
  • many people can be trained immediately, in advance of a full go live for a new system - speeding up the implementation process
  • using Simulate saves the cost and complexity involved in developing system simulations.
