ALL FOR CHARITe ! - e2train helps charity commission provide a blended learning solution

Charity commissionThe Business need:

The Charity Commission needed a cost effective way of providing self-paced training to some 550 employees, situated in its offices in London, Liverpool and Taunton.

"Our staff need training in very specific and sometimes complex areas", said Eileen Westward, Head of Training and Development. "We wanted to provide new and existing employees with instant access to specific Charity Commission training, when and where they needed it, rather than on terms dictated by course availability, location and venue".

The Organisation:

The Charity Commission is the statutory organisation that regulates over 180,000 registered charities in England and Wales. Their aim is "to give the public confidence in the integrity of charity".

It seeks to ensure that charities operate within a framework that enables them to work effectively for the purposes for which they were set up.

The Solution:

Partnering with Parity Training, e2train installed its Kallidus™ Learning Management System on to the Charity Commission's own servers and intranet. The Online learning activity of all employees could now be deployed, managed and reported on, at anytime. Furthermore, The LMS was branded to blend with the Charity Commission's own 'look and feel'.

Due to the specific and complex nature of Charity Commission training, there was a requirement that the Commission's subject matter experts and training personnel be competent in online lesson creation. e2train provided its user friendly Kallidus™ Authoring System, as well as the training to meet this requirement. Furthermore, e2train's Content Creation team gave the Charity Commission a 'flying start' in the switch to e-learning, by converting over 30 training packs and induction modules into an online format. In addition, page templates were supplied to assist the Commission's staff in creating
further lessons.

"Of course, traditional learning methods will never become redundant, and we will continue to use them where appropriate, only now supported by e-learning material which has been created entirely to meet our needs."

That's the beauty of the blended approach to learning.
